War Zone

With my theme of destruction, I had an idea in my head for a while to mount a large sheet of some sort on a wall and basically throw stuff at it! I didn't really know how I would achieve this or what it would produce but this is what I did. I got a long sheet of brown paper and hung it on the wall of my garage at home, using both nails and tape. I proceeded to soak pieces of kitchen roll in black ink and fling them at it to see what results I could create. Unfortunately, my combination of nails and tape was not enough to withstand my inky missiles.

So, back to the drawing board. But there were some interesting splash marks left on the wall from my experiment.

Instead I lay the sheet on the floor and repeated the process of throwing the tissue paper and also splashing ink on it with a large brush. I had a lot of fun messing around with the notion of movement and destruction and enjoyed creating some unexpected results

I then left it to dry in my garage for a week after gluing it down and it is now hanging in my studio space.
