To recreate the texture of the damaged cans in my sketchbook, I decided to photocopy the photos I had taken and play around with how I glued the images to the page. I experimented with scrunching up the paper first and then gluing it on, doing some accordian folding and then plucking up the paper to recreate the cracks and bend on the surface of the cans.
