In Shreds

After using the shredder before, I instantly made a connection with these shredded pieces I came across in the timber basket at home. Not really knowing what I was going to do with it I gathered a bunch before it was thrown into the fire. I decided to recreate the way I had presented the shredded betting pages in my notebook, layering them in a linear form to fill up a page. So, I began with strips of masking tape the width of a sheet of card and filled each one with strips of wood. I repeated this four times and glued the strips down along the sheet, ending up with a curly wood version of the example of shredding I have in the sketchbook.
